Some of you have come to us because you want to score 99% on a USMLE exam. Some of you are here because you didn’t pass a USMLE exam on your first, second, or third attempt. That’s ok. Sometimes it just takes the right teacher with the right approach. The important thing is that you’re trying something different now and you should rest assured that we will leave no stone unturned to get you to pass or get a high score. This passion for teaching is why we have unparalleled success with students on USMLE exams.
We are all about getting results and the format of our sessions maximizes fact volume. Our students who succeed at all levels of USMLE exams have a well-rounded depth of facts on all subjects and can recall them under pressure. These are goals we have for you, and the combination of our notes and sessions will help you achieve this.
Our tutors provide: - Exam content outlines to get you started and to help identify weak areas to focus on in the tutoring sessions - Detailed tracking of all topics covered in sessions and notes on your strengths and weaknesses - Unique study tools that aid in critical thinking and organizing the vast material - Folders of USMLE-styled questions divided into subject areas so you can focus on weak areas - Strategies to dissect USMLE questions and a systematic approach to going through self-assessments so you get the most out of each question and are prepared for similar questions on test day - Regular assessments and simulations of exam day to monitor your progress - Approaches to time management, study efficiency, and lifestyle improvements to optimize your performance
During the tutoring sessions, we give students something for their time and money that they cannot get at home. Our sessions are designed to build mental and physical stamina. We will simulate the test in the manner that we question you, keeping you off balance by transitioning from topic-to-topic like the exams do, which can help address and alleviate test-day anxiety issues that you may have. This means putting you under a bit of pressure and making your mind work faster than it’s used to, but in a calm, focused, efficient manner. This is what our students have always said has helped them the most on their exams.
Our objective in each session is to uncover at least 10-20 frequently asked USMLE facts that you thought you knew, but didn’t, or couldn’t recall under pressure or when it was tested in a different way by us. Every fact counts on USMLE exams. One extra correct question can push you over the pass mark or get you that exclusive high score.
When you give a wrong answer, we’ll explore why it is wrong and rectify any weaknesses on that topic. Every question we ask you will come from a former USMLE self-assessment or from recent USMLE tests and feedback we get from our students who take these tests. A topic may not be emphasized in your review book or by your school, but it may appear on every USMLE exam, and you need to know that reality. We have analyzed 25 years of past USMLE exams (we have seen about every USMLE question that has ever been released) and this has enabled us to recognize question patterns and test-writer traps. We also write USMLE-style questions. When you work with us, we will give you every possible advantage to score well on this test that we have compiled during these years.
We will help you build your confidence in choosing the right answers and not second-guessing yourself. But like the test, we’re going to use some confusing language, vague clues, and see how well you adapt when the questions aren’t exactly like the self-assessments and question banks you’ve done, which can disrupt students on test day. For 25 years, we’ve been hearing students leave the test and tell us: that test was so much harder than the assessments, so much vaguer. But it usually isn’t. It’s just different, and you’re also under tremendous pressure. Our tutoring sessions will help you overcome this.
